Stewart Rhodes Wiki, Wikipedia, Wife, Eye, Wiki, Family, Military, Age, Children – In spite of the fact that the Ron Paul Report contained racist remarks, Stewart Rhodes, a volunteer for Ron Paul’s presidential campaign in 2008, later asserted that Paul’s political rivals had connected him to hate groups and racists. The idea that Adolf Hitler may have been stopped if German soldiers and police had defied commands motivated Rhodes, according to accounts.

Stewart Rhodes News

Stewart Rhodes, the leader of the far-right Oath Keepers militia, was found guilty of seditious conspiracy for his part in the attack on Congress on January 6 and was found guilty on Thursday, receiving an 18-year jail sentence.

Attorneys requested a 25-year sentence. Rhodes should be given credit for time served since his arrest in January 2022, according to his attorneys.

Amit Mehta, a US district judge, warned a defiant Rhodes before imposing the sentence that he continued to constitute a threat to the US government and that it was obvious that he “wants democracy in this country to devolve into violence.”

You will be prepared to use force against your government as soon as you are liberated, whenever that may be, Mehta stated. Like President Trump, he claimed, “I’m a political prisoner and my only crime is opposing those who are destroying our country.”

Rhodes said he never instructed anybody else to enter the Capitol on 6 January and added that he never entered the building himself. On January 6, 2021, however, when a crowd fueled by Donald Trump broke into the Capitol and attempted to prevent the certification of Joe Biden’s victory, members of the Oath Keepers took a proactive role.

The prosecution successfully argued that Rhodes and his crew planned an armed uprising and stored weapons at a motel in Virginia for rapid transport to Washington, DC.

Other Oath Keepers who have been found guilty of seditious conspiracy are scheduled to be sentenced this week and the following. Later this year, Proud Boys members who were convicted of identical offences will be sentenced. The attack on January 6 has been linked to nine deaths, including police officers who committed suicide. More than 500 convictions have been obtained after more than 1,000 arrests.

Prosecutors stated in court documents related to the Oath Keepers cases that “the justice system’s reaction to January 6 bears the weighty responsibility of impacting whether January 6 becomes an outlier or a watershed moment.”

The assault on Congress, like all other methods of Trump’s attempt to sway the election, was unsuccessful. Trump was subsequently impeached a second time for encouraging an uprising. Republicans in the Senate found him not guilty.

The House committee on January 6 referred four criminal cases to the justice department after outlining Trump’s activities during the 2020 presidential election. In federal and state investigations into the former president’s involvement in the attack on Congress and election tampering, there is still a chance that he will be charged with a crime. He is still the undisputed front-runner for the Republican presidential candidature in 2020, though.
