Varun was born on 1 April 1995 in Kolkata, West Bengal, India (23 years; 2018 age). Although he was born in Kolkata, his roots can be traced back to Delhi, India. Initially, he was supposed to join the Indian Army as both his father and grandfather served in the Indian Army, but after participating in MTV Roadies X2, he decided to build his career in the glamor world.

He attended seven different schools; Dalhousie Public School, Dalhousie; Army Public School, Wellington, Tamil Nadu; Navy Public School, Amritsar, Punjab; Home Education, Mhow, Madhya Pradesh; Army Public School, Kolkata; and Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi. He received his Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree from Sri Venkateswara College, New Delhi. In 2015, he participated in the popular reality show “MTV Roadies X2” but was eliminated in the 20th episode. After gaining popularity on the show, he landed a role in the web series “Squadrann” which aired on YouTube in 2015.
