STRICTLY star Angela Rippon has revealed she stopped breathing and suffered a “major medical breakdown” during a live tour.
The TV veteran, 79, returned to Instagram today after The Sun revealed she was forced to pull out of a performance with Kai Widdrington on tour last week.

The BBC presenter missed her performance in Leeds and needed time to recover.
Speaking on Instagram today, she revealed the seriousness of her condition and admitted it scared her and dance partner Kai.
Angela said: “I’ve been offline for a few days because as some of you may know I suffered a major health breakdown earlier in the week.
“When we were in Liverpool, I managed to pick up an infection that went straight to my chest.
“It affected my breathing very badly and as some of you may know, I suffer from asthma.
“On Wednesday night, when I wanted to continue dancing the cha-cha-cha, I’m afraid the infection caused a serious asthma attack and when I started dancing, I stopped breathing, which was a bit scary.
“Not just for me, but for Kai too because I was a bit like a rag doll on the dance floor.’
Angela was ordered to rest in bed for two days and prescribed an “impressive regimen” of medication.
She continued: “Luckily we always have paramedics in arenas when we perform and when I came out they gave me oxygen so I could breathe again.”
Angela has confirmed that she has been cleared to perform in Manchester on Saturday night.
Her co-star Angela Scanlon commented on her post and said: “Queen Ang. Back with a bang xx.”
Another fan wrote: “Oh my god that must have been so scary for you and Kai. Thank god you had paramedics with you the whole time.”
At 79, Angela holds the title of the BBC One competition’s oldest contestant.
She was the eighth star awarded in last year’s contest.
Angela has been winning over audiences across the country alongside partner Kai, sharing the stage with talents such as Bobby Brazier, Layton Williams and Strictly winner Ellie Leach.
Ellie and Bobby also enjoyed dating on the side.
