Strictly’s Toyah Willcox eliminated in second dance-off reigniting fan fury over Tom Dean’s shock exit

STRICTLY’s Toyah Willcox was eliminated after her second dance, sparking fan fury once again over Tom Dean’s shock exit.

Toyah, 66, and her dance partner Neil Jones, 42, were sent home during tonight’s results announcement, just a week after she was bailed out in favor of Olympic swimmer Tom, 24.

They went up against Paul Merson, 56, and Karen Hauer, 42, who Cha-Chaed them from The Magnificent Seven.

But their Samba to Poor Fortunate Souls from The Little Mermaid failed to keep them in the competition.

Judges Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood voted to save Paul and Karen, with head judge Shirley Ballas admitting she would have made the same decision.

Craig attributed his decision to poor “timing” and a “loss of balance” on Toya’s part.

Turning to her show partner, the singer said of their connection: “It was instant. It had to be Neil. I felt so comfortable and safe. You’re a great teacher and friend.”

Fans rushed to social media to share their frustration at Tom’s departure to no avail.

One tweeted: “Can we bring Tom back?” while another agrees: “I’m still glad Tom left last week.”

Someone else said: “Thank God! I just wish Tom could come back.”

A fourth agreed: “Seriously, they sent Tom Dean home for both of these piles of poo. I’m still furious.”

Viewers were previously convinced show bosses were trying to get rid of her, thanks to an ‘obvious clue’.

Toyah and Neil were chosen to perform their second Samba during yesterday’s installment of Movie Week.

Toyah did little to impress the judges as she came out with low marks.

But Strictly fans didn’t think the results could see her dancing again.

Many took to Xu, formerly of Twitter, to complain that she was given the dreaded “death spot” by coming second.

The “death slot” refers to the place in the order that is least likely to lead to success.

This led fans to suspect that the Beeb was secretly looking to get the 80s pop singer out by giving her the spot.

Writing online, one fan said: “Toyah has a death spot, seems like they want her gone now that she’s on Film Week.”

Another added: “Samba and Toyah are deadlocked. OH DEAR!”

A third wrote: “Lol @ production is not doing Toyah and Neil a favor by throwing them in the death slot.”

Before a fourth wrote: “Toyah and Neil death groove oh it’s over for them.”

Toyah received a bad three from Craig Revel Horwood, as well as fours from the other three judges.

This prompted another fan to joke that the judges were also working to get away with being labeled “unfairly short”.

A disgruntled viewer said: “Very unfair low marks for Toyah. The judges want her gone.”

Last week, 80’s icon Toyah and Neil made it to the final two to dance against Tom and Nadiya Bychkova.

Strictly Curse – The Lowdown

The latest series of STRICTLY Come Dancing has already been hit by rumors of a ‘curse’ on the BBC show – but what is it?

A host of Strictly Come Dancing stars have hit the Strictly Curse over the past two decades.

This is where celebrities who may or may not be attached in the outside world become more than friends with their professional partners.

A total of 20 relationships are said to have been affected so far over the series’ 20-year run.

Relationships fell apart due to romances on the dance floor and strict rehearsal schedules.

These include the partnerships of Louise and Jamie Redknapp, as well as Kevin Clifton and Karen Hauer.

Controversially, Judge Craig Revel Horwood once said of the curse: “I think of it as a blessing, to be honest. One person is married, the other had a girlfriend, but what I’m trying to say in this whole thing is: if you say strict, sometimes you’re in a relationship that doesn’t work anyway.

“There has to be something wrong with your relationship before things go wrong.”

Series one winner Brendan Cole dumped his fiancee, fellow Strictly professional Camilla Dallerup, during the filming of the first series in spring 2004.

Brendan was said to have fallen in love with his celebrity partner and first-time winner Natasha Kaplinsky, although the duo have not confirmed they were in a relationship.
