Suhasini Haidar is an Indian journalist who serves as the diplomatic editor of The Hindu, an English-language news agency in India.

Profession
In 1994, Suhasini began her journalism career as an intern at CNN’s New York United Nations bureau. Thereafter, she became a producer for CNN’s New Delhi bureau in April 1995. She had a distinguished tenure at CNN International from 1995 to 2005. During this time, she provided regular reports from countries across the Indian subcontinent, including India, Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. Her contributions earned CNN the 2005 Columbia-DuPont Broadcast Journalism Award for its extensive coverage of the 2004 Indian tsunami.
She also spent a month working for CNN.com in New York, where she contributed to their coverage of the 2001 Al Qaeda 9/11 attacks on the United States. In 2000, she was injured in a bomb blast while doing in-depth reporting. Reporting from the conflict zone in Kashmir. She was later appointed as a correspondent for CNN International’s New Delhi bureau. From 2005 to 2014, she served as CNN-IBN’s foreign affairs editor and prime-time anchor. She was later appointed as the Diplomatic Editor of The Hindu, where she wrote regularly on foreign policy issues and hosted the weekly online program ‘Suhasini Haidar’s Worldview’. In March 2011, she was the only Indian journalist present in Gaddafi-controlled areas during the Libyan conflict. She has interviewed many prime ministers and presidents, including Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, former Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, former Spanish Prime Minister José María Aznar, and former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan.
