Sulaiman Merchant is an Indian music director and composer who works primarily in Bollywood. Sulaiman composes music for films and music videos along with his brother Salim Merchant, collectively known as Salim-Sulaiman. The duo rose to fame for composing the soundtrack for the Bollywood film Bhoot.

Sulaiman Merchant was born in Mumbai on Thursday, December 21, 1972 (47 years old in 2019). His star sign is Sagittarius. His family is from Mundra, Kutch, Gujarat.
He attended St. Peter’s High School in Mumbai and later went on to KC College for further studies. Born into a family with a musical background, Sulaiman developed a keen interest in music at a very young age. While in school, Sulaiman received tabla training from Tawfiq Qureshi and Ustad Zakir Hussain. At the age of 16, he started producing music and composed for advertising jingles, documentaries and pop albums.

Profession
Sulaiman started his career by composing music for television commercials, documentaries and music albums. He came to prominence in Bollywood in 1977 by composing the background music for the film Hameshaa. He rose to fame by composing the music for the film Bhoot.
Sulaiman has since composed music and background music for many Bollywood films, including Ab Tak Chhappan (2004), Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Dhoom (2004), Neal ‘N’ Nikki (2005), Kaal (2005), Krrish (2006) and Vogue (2008).
Sulaiman, along with his brother Salim, created the Bollywood remixes of Lady Gaga’s songs “Born This Way” and “Judas”. They also worked on Enrique’s song “I’m A Freak” and composed the music for the Hollywood film “Sold”.
