Sunny Hostin addresses his critics!

During the segment on View On Tuesday, Hostin, 55, passionately defended her choice of outfit after she openly said she was told she was dressing “too young”.

“I think there are a lot of unfortunate trolls in our country right now and I think we have those X — ex-Twitter — bullies with their keyboard bravado who would never say that to your face,” Hostin said as the hosts discussed the celebrities they’ve embraced bodypositivity and aging.

“I’m 55 years old. I’m often criticized for these stupid things on social media: ‘That’s too young for you.’ Well, guess what? I don’t care. I like to wear what I want to wear,” she continued.

After the audience applauded Hostin’s comments, she listed the many things she has been criticized for.

“My earrings are too young for me, my clothes are too young for me, my hair is too young for me, my makeup is too young for me. Guess what, again? I don’t care,” Hostin said. “I feel better than ever in my life, and I’m 55 years old.”

Body image was a topic Hostin spoke candidly with PEOPLE in January 2023 as she discussed her decision to have a breast reduction and lift, as well as liposuction, in August 2022.

“I feel like a better version of myself. It was a health decision and a self-care decision,” she told PEOPLE.

“I thought I was going to be embarrassed, like, ‘Oh my God, I’m getting plastic surgery like all these crazy celebrities.’ But I’m not ashamed at all. And I hope that sharing my story will help more people,” Hostin said. “If they’re feeling as body-conscious as I was — they can do what they need to do to feel better.”

Body positivity and aging became a topic of conversation on Tuesday’s show after Selena Gomez reflected on how her body has changed over the years in two Instagram Story posts.

The actress shared two swimsuit photos on Monday and wrote: “Today I realized I will never look like this again… I’m not perfect but I’m proud to be who I am… Sometimes I forget it’s okay to be me.”
