Surjit Bindrakhia started his career in 1991 with the release of his first music album “Munda Ki Mangda”, composed by his guru (mentor) Atul Sharma and composed by Shamsher Sandhu. The first album was a huge success and loved all over the world.
The trio released a new song “Bas Kar Bas Kar” in 1992 on the T-Series label. This song is another super hit song on the charts and one of the best dance songs.
The song that brought Surjit Bindrakhia international recognition was “Dupatta Tera Satrang Da” released in 1994. To date, the song is one of the most played songs at the celebrations. Not just Surjit, Atul Sharma and Shamsher Sandhu are equally praised for the music and lyrics of this masterpiece.

Surjit Bindrakhia died of a heart attack in his sleep on November 17, 2003. His wife found no movement when she woke him, and the family doctor later confirmed his death. The singer was only 41 when he died. Many industry celebrities like Sardool Sikander, Hans Raj Hans and Gurdas Maan came to Surjit’s village Bindrakh to pay their last respects to the singer.
