Grab your passports (and some popcorn) because it’s time to head back to White Lotus! After the finale of season 2 of HBO’s hit series White lotus 2022 fans were shocked when the official @streamonmax Instagram account shared a cryptic post on the morning of Monday, December 16, teasing a big announcement.
The caption of the post, which also revealed a new poster for the upcoming season, teased: “In one hour, karma comes for all.” The poster itself featured a white lotus flower on a green background, paired with the same tagline, “Karma comes for everyone”. Subtle details on the poster hinted at possible plots – snakes camouflaged within a floral thread and golden outlines of buildings in the background. Just an hour later, the mystery of exactly what kind of karma is in store for everyone was unraveled with the unveiling of the latest trailer for the upcoming series.

Since the HBO drama is an anthology series, every season White lotus follows a new group of guests who may or may not be enjoying their vacations at the various White Lotus resorts. While the first season was set in Hawaii and the second in Sicily, the third will be heading to Southeast Asia, and fans have gotten a sneak peek at exactly what’s in store for these new guests as they head east.
While fun and games are definitely in store for guests checking into White Lotus, some patrons like Parker Posey’s character know that “something is wrong.” Michelle Monaghan’s own character also wonders “what is this place”, while another person remarks that “they almost died today”.
Even in the midst of the chaos, a guest played by Aimee Lou Wood remarks to what appears to be her significant other, played by Walton Goggins, “But we got a room, didn’t we, honey?”
HBO announced in January that the new cast members who will star in the upcoming third season include Monaghan, Posey, Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Jason Isaacs and Tayme Thapthimthong.
A few weeks later, the third season added five more members to its cast: Goggins, Wood, Sarah Catherine Hook, Sam Nivola and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Fans will recognize at least one familiar face in the cast of the new season. In April 2023. Diversity reported that Natasha Rothwell, who played spa manager Belinda Lindsey, will return for a third season.

Because White lotus is an anthology series, each season does not necessarily pick up where the last one left off. Series creator Mike White hinted at possible plot points for the upcoming season by talking about each season’s themes during a featurette on Max after the final episode of season two aired.
“The first season we highlighted the money, and then the second season is the sex, and I think the third season would be maybe kind of a satirical and funny look at death in Eastern religion and spirituality — it seems like it could be a rich tapestry do another round in White Lotus,” he said. Season 3 of White lotus the premiere is scheduled for February 16, 2025.
