Suzanne Somers’ cause of death has been revealed.
The Three’s Company actress died at 5:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 15 after breast cancer spread throughout her body, according to a death certificate obtained by The Blast.
The document allegedly listed “breast cancer with brain metastases” as her immediate cause of death, and a biopsy confirmed that finding.
Although an autopsy was not performed, the certificate also allegedly listed hypertension, or high blood pressure, and hydrocephalus as additional conditions that led to her death.
According to the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, hydrocephalus is a condition in which “excess cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) accumulates within the fluid-containing cavities or chambers of the brain” and causes “damaging pressure on brain tissues.” Somers’ death certificate states that the actress had suffered from hydrocephalus for over a year.
Three days after Somers’ death, she was buried at Desert Memorial Park in Cathedral City during a ceremony organized by a funeral home in Palm Springs, California, The Blast reported, citing the death certificate.
PEOPLE has reached out to Riverside County officials for confirmation.

Suzanne Somers. A timeline of Suzanne Somers’ battle with cancer

Following news of her death, Somers’ publicist shared with PEOPLE a song Hamel wrote for his wife, which he gave her the day before she died.
Written in capital letters, the poem read in part: “LOVE. THERE IS NO VERSION OF THE WORD APPLICABLE TO SUZANNE. THE CLOSEST VERSION TO THE WORDS IS NOT EVEN CLOSE. NOT EVEN KROLIĆ KRADIĆ.”
“55 YEARS TOGETHER, 46 MARRIED AND OF THOSE 42 YEARS, NOT ONE HOUR OF SEPARATION. EVEN THAT DOESN’T WORK. EVEN GOING TO BED AT 6 O’CLOCK AND HOLDING HANDS WHILE WE SLEEP DOESN’T WORK. STARING AT YOUR BEAUTIFUL FACE WHILE YOU SLEEP. IT’S NOT WORKING,” he continued. “THERE ARE NO WORDS. NO DEEDS. NO PROMISES. NO STATEMENTS. WE ARE ONE. I AM IN LOVE WITH YOU, MY BEAUTIFUL SUZANNE, FOR ALL ETERNITY.”
