This is the incredible moment when a huge herd of more than 50 elephants stopped traffic to cross a highway in Thailand. Drivers couldn’t believe what they were seeing as the majestic creature calmly crossed the road.
A police unit was sent to the scene to ensure the elephants entered the forest safely, after a group of park rangers followed the elephant family earlier in the day. The breathtaking sight was captured on camera by one of the drivers!
It didn’t take long until the cows crossed the road. In less than 40 seconds, the herd of elephants led by their burly boss crossed across the road, into the wilderness. A herd of elephants, including baby elephants, provided a remarkable sight for those gathered there.
“More than 50 wild elephants crossed the highway. They are moving together from one forest to another,” said Pratya Chutipat Sakul, who captured the moment. “Wildlife officials have been monitoring the elephants for the past few days.”
Wildlife officers and park rangers watched the elephants for several days and as soon as they realized they were about to cross the road, they called the local authorities to make sure everyone was safe. .
Sakul told MailOnline: “When the rangers saw their way towards the road, they called the police and immediately sealed off the road. “The police came to make sure the elephants crossed the road smoothly and without accidents.
“No one bothers to wait for the elephants, because the most important thing is that they are safe. Everyone is very calm and barely notices the people around. I feel very lucky to be here. witnessed such a wonderful sight.”
