Tallulah Willis gets candid about her experience with dermatillomania.
On Sunday, August 18, the actress, 30, shared a three-year-old snap of her face to highlight the condition, also known as excoriation disorder or skin tearing disorder.
“Old pic, but right here trying to shout to the rooftops that picking IS HAPPENING!!!” her caption read. “And honestly it can be beautiful? So the next time you pass out and come to with lots of little scabby spots, give yourself some gentleness!! Please! Thank you.”
She added: “Check out @pickingmefdn for some resources and tools to support! I love you,” before ending with the hashtags, “#2021 #pickingrecovery #ocdawareness #dermatillomania.”
In the close-up photo, Tallulah – daughter of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis – looked straight into the camera while resting her head on her hand.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, dermatillomania is “a mental health condition in which you compulsively pick at your skin. This can cause injury, infection, and scarring, leading to stress, anxiety, and a decreased sense of well-being. This condition can often be treated with a combination of medication and therapy.”
Tallulah’s new post comes after she shared a before and after photo of her skin in June.
Opening up about her skin picking in the caption, she wrote: “@pickingmefdn PICKING HAPPENS!! And then healing **can** happen. Healing doesn’t have to mean clear skin, and it doesn’t mean the intrusive thoughts stop coming, and it doesn’t mean you won’t do it again.”
“These are small victories,” she added. “There is such a community in this fight and I really want to share how I achieved my victories and help save all the sweetly chosen faces of the world! ☀️☀️☀️.”
In 2021, Tallulah opened up about her skin issues and the treatments she underwent to clear her complexion.

At the time, the star shared a series of progress pictures, as well as snaps of the products and estheticians she used to clear her skin.
“we soared *to the heights of otherworldly dewy goals,” her caption read, adding that she used a “divine symphony” of treatments and products from iS Clinical, a Dr. Dermatologist-backed Loretta Skincare and British brand MZ Skin to improve her complexion.
Admitting that she’s a “chronic picker,” Tallulah added that “NOT TOUCHING MY PRECIOUS DELICATE FACE WITH ROUGH NAILS FOR 4 – I’M COUNTING ‘EM – 4 MONTHS 🙃🙃🙃” also helped her journey to clearer skin.
