Talulah Riley Talks 'Love' for Ex Elon Musk and Her Three 'Different, but Equally Loveable' Weddings

In a new interview for a British newspaper The Times published on Thursday, August 15, the 38-year-old actress was asked which of her three marriages was the best — she’s been married twice to Elon Musk and is currently married to Thomas Brodie-Sangster — and she decided not to compare them.

“Um, I don’t know how fair it is to rank weddings. All my weddings have been very beautiful,” Riley said The Timesadding that they are all “different but equally lovely”.

And, despite their two divorces — they first married in 2010 and divorced in 2012, then remarried the following year before finalizing their second divorce in 2016 — Riley had only good things to say about the tech mogul, he noted the interviewer.

“Well, you know better than anyone how what we read in the mainstream media isn’t necessarily the absolute truth,” Riley said The Timesbefore using a wrestling analogy to explain that Musk as a public figure is very different from the man he knows.

“It’s ‘kayfabe’ — everyone tells a story to a certain extent and will frame things to a certain extent,” she said. “I loved/love the guy, so I’m incredibly subjective in my opinion, I can’t be impartial, and I shouldn’t be expected to be.” I’m sure, well… You know what it’s like to be in love, right?”

Riley and Brodie-Sangster first met in 2021 while working on the FX show Handgun, and an actor shared news of the couple’s engagement on Instagram in July 2023, writing, “I’m happy to announce that Talulah and I are engaged,” as well as adding a nod to the movie he starred in at age 13, Love actually.

“Love is all around X,” he continued, including a line from the film’s British prime minister, played by Hugh Grant. The post included a cute shot of the couple on a boat together.

From sheep and ponies to ducks and chickens, the couple have plenty of company, as well as a beehive they recently added — which nearly ruined their wedding day.

The day before the ceremony, Riley recalled, “The caterer came to me a little confused and said, ‘There’s a huge swarm of bees right where we want to have our champagne reception. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life. Please come quickly.’ ”

With a little help from her mentor beekeeper, Riley said, the cloud of bees was returned to the hive — and the actress now sees the moment as a good omen.

“Historically in the family, people go to talk to the bees and tell them about births, weddings and deaths. Apparently, when Queen Elizabeth II died, they went to tell the royal bees,” she told the newspaper. “So the night before the wedding, we went to tell the bees, ‘Welcome. We’re getting married tomorrow, just for your information.’ ”

“In any case, they are still with us,” she added.

But she won’t be doing much beekeeping in the coming months as she plans to accompany her actor husband on his next shoot in Australia, she told The Timesadding, “I think his career has been remarkable and exciting.”
