Biography of Tameka Cottle
Tameka was born in College Park, Georgia. Dianne Cottle gave birth to Cottle. Charles “Speedy” Pope was her father. Her father and uncle formed a band called The Tams. It was an R&B band. Joseph Pope was her uncle’s name. She herself became a member of the R&B group Xscape. It was four.
She joined the group while attending Tri-Cities High School for the Performing Arts in 1991. A producer noticed the group. His name was Jermaine Dupri. They performed at his birthday party in Atlanta. They suggested working with them on their new label, So So Def Recordings. Cottle was a key member of the group’s most successful album.
