Move over, “No Regrets” — Tarek El Moussa has a new apparently misspelled ink to show off!
The HGTV star, 42, shared a funny snap of himself getting a tattoo on Instagram on Thursday, May 9, in honor of the upcoming Mother’s Day. Except his tattoo wasn’t quite right.
While the ink was meant to be a nod to El Moussa’s wife Heather Rae El Moussa, fans were quick to notice one small problem — her name was completely butchered.
“I’ve been wanting this one for a while, so I finally surprised @theheatherraeelmoussa with an early Mother’s Day gift! ❤️,” Tarek joked in an Instagram video where he gave fans a look at the tattoo.
“Okay guys, the Mother’s Day tattoo is almost done, we got the wife’s name,” Tarek said as his phone’s camera panned to a huge black tattoo on his arm that read “HETHER”.

“She’s going to be so excited,” Tarek added, as tattoo artist Kareem Masarani nodded his approval.
Of course, the body ink appeared to be a joke, as Heather, 36, took it surprisingly well in the comments section of the video. “😂😂😂 Sweet baby,” she wrote. “How romantic 🥰 one small problem. A is also missing. It doesn’t matter 🙌😆”
However, some commentators took the joke seriously.
“Is it misspelled here?? Is HEATHER not HETHER???” read one answer.
“OMG 😳 what about the spelling [her] name correct first of all 😂,” someone else wrote.
“Bruh, did you miss writing her name 😳,” said a third commenter.

The reason for Tarek’s visit to the tattoo shop, as he revealed on his Instagram Stories, was to get his 15-month-old son Tristan’s birthday tattooed on his arm, just below the birthdays of his older children Brayden and Taylor. But after receiving an award in honor of “his new amazing son”, the proud father decided to play a little joke with Heather.
A subsequent Instagram Stories upload showed Tarek filling in his jokey “HETHER” tattoo, before fans began to suspect something was amiss.
“‘Hether’ is one lucky girl,” one fan commented, while another replied: “I love it when people think obvious jokes on the internet are real.”

Fake ink aside, the couple have had a busy few months, with Tarek talking about the transition from two to three children during Show Jennifer Hudson appearance last month. In addition to baby Tristan, Tarek is the father of Brayden and Taylor, who he shares with ex-wife Christina Hall.
“I finally feel like I’m ready to be a dad,” joked Tarek.
“It’s a different experience. When I was in my 20s when I had my daughter, I was young, building my business,” he said. “I was overwhelmed. I was stressed. And today I’m a little more established. I’m a little older. I’m a little wiser. So it’s a different experience and I’m really enjoying it.”
