Taylor Swift is enjoying America’s favorite sport – all thanks to boyfriend Travis Kelce.
The “Anti-Hero” singer (33) revealed in her new interview for TimeAfter attending several Kansas City Chiefs football games to cheer on Kelce, the 2023 Person of the Year has made quite the commitment to the sport.
“Football is great, it shows,” Swift said, adding: “I’m missing out on a lifetime.”
Swift noted to the magazine that by the time she attended her first Chiefs game on Sept. 24, she and the Chiefs tight end were already “hanging out” after he revealed on his podcast that he didn’t give the singer a friendship bracelet with his number on it.

“So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew about, which I’m grateful for, because we met,” she said, clarifying the timeline of their relationship. “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to initiate a first date with difficulty.”
The Grammy winner said that when it comes to a relationship, it means supporting each other, which she happily does when she comes to one of Kelce’s games.

“When you say the relationship is public, it means I’m going to see him doing what he likes, we’re showing off to each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift said, adding: “The opposite of that is you have to put extreme efforts to make sure no one knows you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”
Timeline of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship
Swift’s presence at the games seems to have not only lifted Kelce’s spirits, but the NFL’s TV ratings as well. According to FOX SportsSwift’s appearance at the Chief’s game on Sept. 24 was the most-watched telecast of the week on any network, with 24.3 million viewers.

Additionally, Travis’ brother Jason Kelce also noted on the brothers’ podcast that 2 million female viewers tuned in after Swift was seen at the Jets vs. Chiefs game.
However, Swift also attracted negative attention for her attendance at the games. Some football fans have criticized the NFL for its coverage of Travis and Swift, especially after he changed his bio on his official Instagram account to read, “chiefs are 2-0 as a speedster.” Fans also noted that the NFL seemed to show favoritism towards one team over another.

Others also expressed their annoyance at seeing the “Cruel Summer” singer constantly on the show — something the singer said she has no control over.
“I don’t know how they know which suite I’m in,” Swift said. “The camera is about half a mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is going to put you on the air, so I don’t know if I was shown 17 times or once.”
However, the singer said that she was there for one purpose only. “I’m just here to support Travis,” she said, adding, “I don’t know if I’m showing off too much and pissing off a few dads and Brads and Chads.”
