Taylor Swift Hinted at ‘Clara Bow’ Song Off New Album with Her Grammy's Necklaces: See the Side-by-Side Pics!

According to a Swift fan account on X, two photos prove the ‘Tortured Poets Ward’ style theory

Taylor Swift is the mastermind behind finding clues to her look before the big reveal, but even the most dedicated Swifties didn’t get her latest tip.

At the Grammys on Feb. 4, the now 14-time winner, 34, wore a white Schiaparelli haute couture gown and opera gloves with a custom Lorraine Schwartz necklace featuring an Art Deco Concord watch, as well as layers of necklaces. Many (including us!) thought the moment of high drama was an easter egg for the long-awaited drop for Reputation (Taylor’s version).

The watch especially had the fans on To watch because Swift made a special setting for midnight right before heading to the awards, as seen in a video captured by PEOPLE. And Swifties also took it as a sign that all their theories about Swift’s return to her era in 2017 would be confirmed at 12am – until they weren’t.

The pop star put everything on the line when, after receiving the Grammy for Best Pop Album for Midnightshe announced a brand new album, Department for Tortured Poets, which will be published on April 19.

And towards the fan tweet to X (formerly of Twitter), it appears that Swift actually teased her upcoming project on the red carpet.

Among Department for tortured poets‘with The 16-song tracklist, which also features Post Malone and Florence + The Machine, includes a song called “Clara Bow,” which is believed to be inspired by the Old Hollywood starlet of the same name.

Swift reportedly paid tribute to the actress by wearing a bunch of vintage-looking necklaces similar to the jewelry Bow wore decades ago. A fan tweeted about the supposed coincidence on Xu, posting photos of Swift and Bow next to each other. And we have to admit, the similarities are uncanny.

Fans began to theorize what the song could be about and drew some parallels to Bow (a popular 1920s silent film siren who also made headlines for her personal life and romantic relationships) and Swift’s highly publicized careers and lives into the spotlight.

It’s unclear how Swift will weave Bow’s story into the song given Bow’s complicated history with Hollywood. But it is possible that it can cause a similar story for her Red the song “The Lucky One” in which Swift sings about a starlet escaping the spotlight to pursue a private life.

Taylor Swift won the 13th Grammy and announced a new album at the 2024 Grammys.
