Taylor Swift shares how she planned to include her new album Department for tortured poets on the European leg of her Eras Tour.
The singer, 34, revealed during her second show in Paris on Friday, May 10, that she “started planning this surprise” TTPD chapter of her concert “eight or nine months ago”, ahead of the album’s release in April.
In a video posted on TikTok from a performance at the París La Défense Arena in France, Swift told fans: “So Paris is the first city to ever see a new TTPD chapter of the Eras tour,” as the sold-out crowd cheered.
“I have to tell you, it was so rewarding to play it for you because we started planning this surprise for you about eight or nine months ago,” she continued. “And then when we got two months off from the Eras tour, we didn’t really take any time off at all, we just went straight back into rehearsals.”

“So, I’d love to give it up for my crew, my dancers, my band, my backing vocalists, everyone who made it happen,” Swift added, applauding her crew along with fans.
The moment was also captured and divided by X (formerly Twitter) by Diversity May 10.
The “Fortnight” singer then went into the acoustic portion of the show, where she usually plays two surprise songs not on the set list, as she performed two songs in addition to the set list, including a medley of her 2014 hits “Is It Over Now” ?” and “Out of the Woods” and “My Boy Only Breaks His Favorite Toys,” from her new album TTPD.
Swift kicked off the European leg of her Eras Tour in Paris at the Paris La Défense Arena in France on Thursday, May 9. He will hold four performances in the city.
So far, the singer has made a few changes to the show to include her latest album TTPDafter publication on April 19. This includes tweaking the intro as Swift is seen in the bonus clip singing the title track TTPD, while naming all her albums. She performed a new one TTPD set with songs like “Down Bad,” “Fortnight” and “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?”

Swift last performed at an Eras Tour concert in Singapore in March, where her boyfriend Travis Kelce joined her as support.

The singer wraps up her last show in Paris on May 12, after which she will perform in Stockholm, Lisbon and Madrid for the rest of the month. It will then arrive in the UK before heading to Dublin at the end of June.
