He added,
My father was very adamant about not having British music played in the house; even English speakers were banned. I grew up listening to Shoukat Ali Khan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Gurdas Maan and Kuldeep Manak. In fact, Gurdas Maanji is the God of Punjabi music. But my mission is Asian fusion, I’m a fusion of English and Punjabi. I have been promoting Punjabi and will do so in the future.
