Sam Richardson takes home the Emmy gold!
TheTed Lasso actor won for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series at the 75th Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Saturday night. Other actors in his category were Jon Bernthal (Bear), Luke Kirby (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)Nathan Lane (Just the murders in the building), Pedro Pascal (Saturday night live) and Oliver Platt (Bear).
During his brief acceptance speech, Richardson thanked Apple for “making the show and putting me on it.” Richardson (39) also expressed gratitude to the Television Academy, as well as to him Ted Lasso actors Toheeb Jimoh and Hannah Waddingham. His speech would also not be complete if the actor did not thank his mom and dad.

“It means everything in the world to me,” Richardson told reporters of his Emmy win. “It was written by some of my best friends [Ted Lasso] … so it’s nice to be back with the family.”
He also admitted he was excited to spend quality time with his cat Conan O’Meowan and “go for a swim”.
Richardson’s turn as Edwin Akuf saw him star opposite Jimoh’s Sam Obisanya and play a character from his native Ghana. Along with his first win on Saturday, the actor was previously nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for Ted Lasso in 2022
