Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine arrested after failing to appear in court

According to the AP, last October, Tekashi 6ix9ine was also arrested and charged with assaulting a producer in the Dominican Republic after he and an associate, Dominican rapper Yailín la Más Viral, worked at the producer’s studio. The current status of the charges in that incident is unclear.

A few months earlier, in August, the “Gooba” rapper was arrested in Palm Beach, Florida after failing to appear in court. He was previously issued three traffic tickets, and when he did not appear at the trial scheduled for July, the judge issued a warrant for his arrest.

The hip-hop artist was pulled over for another traffic incident while driving without a license plate and using an expired license, leading to his arrest.

Three suspects involved in the incident were later arrested and the rapper posted a video on Instagram, breaking his silence on the situation in the headline.

“What happened[ed] here it was just cowardly. I’m not mad that this happened,” he wrote. “There are no rules on the street, so I can’t say they were wrong. Obviously, it wasn’t fair, but then again, the street has no rules. Just imagine that you have nothing to do with a situation and feel obligated to make it your job. (Very strange) I’m happy to still be here. And I want to say that I love my fans. Thank you.”
