Telangana Formation Day 2023: Telangana has a glorious history of at least two thousand five hundred years or more. It became the 29th and youngest state in the Union of India on 2nd June 2014, both geographically and politically. Since then, June 2 is celebrated every year as Telangana Founding Day. The birth and expansion of this powerful political state is proof of the existence of a healthy economic, social and cultural framework.

Date of Formation of Telangana: History

Telangana’s struggle to form a new nation began in the early 1950s.

– Satvanas (250 BC – 200 AD), ruled this region between the Krishna and Godavari rivers.

– Under the rule of the Kakatiyas (950 AD – 1323 AD), the area experienced its heyday and established Warangal as the capital.

– General Malik Kafur of Allaudin Khilji attacked Warangal and Prataparudra in 1323, leading to the decline of the Kakatiyas. Until 1687, the area remained under the Delhi Sultanate.

– Nizam-ul-Mulk Asaf Jah (Asif Jahin Nizam dynasty) was founded and made Hyderabad the capital of the empire in 1769. From 1724-1948 of Asaf Jahi. Emperor Farruksiyar appointed Qamar-ud-din Khan in 1712 as Viceroy of the Deccan and gave him the title Nizam-ul-Mulk. An autonomous province of the Mughal Empire was established when Qamar-du-din Khan defeated Mubariz Khan and recovered Deccan Suba. He took the name Asif Jah and called the dynasty Asif Jhahi. He called the area Hyderabad Deccan. Parts of Telangana i.e. Medak and Warangal are part of their kingdom. Hyderabad city became the official capital of Nizam in 1769.

– The British with Nizam Asaf Jah IV signed the Sub-Union in 1799 and lost control over defense and foreign affairs. The state of Hyderabad became a separate state among the presidents and provinces of British India.

– Until 1946, the area remained under British and Nizam rule of Hyderabad. This was also the year that the revolt was quelled by the Razakars or mercenaries of Nizam.

– After India’s independence (1947), Jawaharlal Nehru and Sardar Patel offered Hyderabad’s last Nizam, Osman Ali Khan, to join the Indian Union, but he refused after repeated requests. On September 17, 1948, the Indian Army annexed Hyderabad and Nizam surrendered to Sardar Patel. Eventually, the state of Hyderabad joined the Indian Union.

– In December 1953, the State Reorganization Commission was appointed to make recommendations on the reorganization of state borders. Languages ​​of both cantons are common but the council does not support the immediate merger of Telangana with Andhra. But thanks to the intervention of the leaders, in November 1956, the two states of Telangana and Andhra were merged.

– In 2013, the UPA government headed by Manmohan Singh approved the establishment of Telangana and ended the process by passing the state statute bill in both houses of parliament in February 2014.

– In the April 2014 general election, Telangana Rashtra Samithi won with 63 out of 119 seats and formed the government. Sri K Chandrashekar Rao has been sworn in as the first Chief Minister of Telangana. Telangana State was officially inaugurated on June 2, 2014.
