Teresa Giudice Says the Food in Prison Was ‘So Good,’ She Often Cooked Fellow Inmates Her Specialty Dish

According to Teresa Giudice, prison food is not bad.

The The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 51, opened up about his time behind bars on Wednesday’s episode of The Hollywood Raw podcast with Dax Holt and Adam Glyn. When asked about the food, she shocked the presenters by saying that she really enjoyed it.

“I have to say the food was very good,” Giudice admitted. “And actually, I cooked there because I’m a chef — I’m a triple whammy The New York Times best-selling author, three of my cookbooks.”

Giudice, who spent 11 months behind bars on fraud charges related to the bankruptcy of her ex-husband Joe Giudice, revealed that she often cooked in the prison kitchen for 200 other inmates. “Camp-style” dinners were prepared from the provisions that were provided that day, but Giudice’s specialty was fried chicken.

“I’m telling you, the food was so good, and my favorite thing was when I first got there, they had banana nut muffins,” she explained. “I would have a banana nut cookie every morning and then eventually they ran out and I was so mad.”

Still, Giudice noted that she “didn’t do anything wrong” and thinks the judge was trying to “make an example of me.” When she reflected on her time in court, she said she never expected to be sentenced to prison.

“This judge thought she knew me because of what my colleagues were saying about me,” she said, adding, “I wasn’t trying to keep up with the Joneses. If anything, my teammates were trying to keep up with me.”
