“All these games mean a lot and it’s hard, but I managed to be there and spend two days in the hospital and get home and on the flight. Everyone is fine and everyone is healthy and happy and we are all blessed,” he said.

“I think every father here who was in the hospital at the time, you know, you’re just worried about your wife. You get a few hours of sleep here and there, but you make sure your loved ones are okay.”

Semien and Murrey are high school sweethearts who first met in St. Mary’s, and continued their romance as student athletes at UC Berkeley, where Murrey was a volleyball player. They tied the knot in January 2012.
