Thambi Ramaiah is an Indian actor, director, comedian, lyricist, author and singer, primarily in the Tamil film industry. He is best known for directing the films Manu Needhi (2001), Indiralohathil Na Azhagappan (2008) and Maniyaar Kudumbam (2018). Besides directing, he is best known for the film Myna (2010), for which he won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor.

Thambi Ramaiah was born on Tuesday, June 19, 1956, in Rarapuram village, Pudukkottai, Tamil Nadu (age 67; as of 2023). He is a Cancer. As a teenager, he was trained to play various instruments including the organ and guitar. - In an interview, Thambi Ramaiah shared an incident from his student days. He said that in order to earn pocket money, he once wrote love letters to his classmates. He used to get 50 paisa per letter, which was enough for him to buy ice cream.
- When Thambi Ramaiah was at the peak of his career in 2013-2014, he was shooting four films a day. Not only that, he also served as an agent, makeup artist and costume designer in the film. He said,
I don’t have a makeup artist, a manager or a costume designer. Everything is arranged by me. If a role is meant for me, it will come somehow. “

In this industry, the likes of MGR, Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan top billed films and now, I too have had a similar experience. I don’t even know how to repay Samuthirakani. “
- According to Thambi Ramaiah, he got a chance to be promoted as an actor while shooting for the film Viswasam in 2019. He said in an interview,
If my character is memorable despite the short runtime, it’s not just my performance, but the space and content Siwa gave me. He’s a great actor himself and puts tremendous trust in his actors.
