On Thursday, October 3, the publication and premium design market for wedding products came together to reveal Verona Sunset as its wedding color of 2025, taking the title from Marseille Bleu in 2024.
The latest color that has the honor, described Brides as a “striking, vibrant orange,” it’s named after the Italian city of Verona—a nod to the growing popularity of destination weddings and the city that served as the venue for Romeo and Julietper socket.
The popularity of Italian aperitifs (such as the Aperol Spritz) also played a role in the decision.

Brides boasts color as a perfect complement to classic wedding white, lavender and green, as well as the ability to shine in orange applications and in combination with black. To demonstrate its many applications in action, Brides chose three wedding planners to create Verona Sunset mood boards, rounded up some Verona Sunset fashion concepts, decor and food and drinks.
The outlet also shared a travel guide for the city of Verona, which Dr. Terika L. Haynes, founder of Dynamite Travel, says is known as a hot spot for local cuisine as well as a wellness destination, among other things.
“Whether you’re strolling its cobbled streets, relaxing in one of its charming squares, sampling its delicious cuisine, or simply watching the sunset turn the city golden, you’ll appreciate all that the ‘City of Love’ has to offer,” said Haynes. Brides.
Verona Sunset’s new title couldn’t have come at a better time either. Stationary orders with orange in the color palette have tripled in the last year, Brides also reports, citing Minted.

This eye-catching color took the color of the year title from Marseille Bleu, itself named after the French coastal city of Marseille.
While Marseille Bleu was described last year as a “dynamic, lively shade” that “can be read as classic or modern, feminine or masculine, winter or summer”, its successor is also being touted Brides as “surprisingly versatile” and a color that can work in multiple settings and in combination with different colors.
