Love Island's JaNa Craig Likes Getting to ‘Miss’ Kenny Rodriguez amid Long Distance: ‘Helps the Heart Grow Fonder’ (Exclusive)

JaNa Craig is enjoying her newfound privacy with boyfriend Kenny Rodriguez.

The Island of love USA The season 6 alum, 27, found love with 24-year-old Kenny during her time in the villa in Fiji, and she tells PEOPLE that “nothing has really changed” in the way the pair interact, but she likes having time to miss her man .

A native of Hawaii, she lives in Las Vegas, while Kenny lives in Dallas, and JaNa says they “work together a lot, but we also just have [the right] so much time that we can miss each other.”

“That distance also helps the heart have more compassion,” she says. “But we also don’t have a lot of pressure to be with each other all the time. I kind of like that we don’t live in the same city now.”

“Now that we’re out, we can take our time. It doesn’t go so fast,” he continues on how their relationship has evolved.

“We always forgot there were cameras anyway, so nothing’s really changed. We still talk about anything,” says JaNa, though she admits it “kind of feels good” not to worry about microphones around their necks anymore.

“Sometimes we would say something and cover the microphone [in the villa]and so now we’ll say something random and leave [to cover the mic] and we will laugh about it. Like, no microphone, we can talk whatever we want 1728028697.”

She adds, “It feels good to have that little bit of privacy sometimes.”

Life in general has been “so much fun” since she left the villa, JaNa says, although she has admittedly been “living without my suitcase for the last two months”.

“I don’t even know what my apartment looks like anymore,” he jokes.

The train hasn’t left yet either, as she’s jetting off to New York this weekend to reunite with her BFF from the mansion, Serena Page, to host a Bottomless Brunch pop-up event with Truly Hard Seltzer to celebrate the launch of their Brunch Pack. “We’re so excited,” she says, though she admits she’s been “flying back and forth to New York like it’s just across the street, when it’s actually across the country” since leaving the mansion.

“Usually when I fly to New York, I’m stressed about… This [trip]we can just relax,” she says. “We’ll just vibrate, be who we are.”
