The 9-Month World Cruise Is Almost Over, Leaving One of Its Famous Passengers Feeling Conflicted

The Ultimate World Cruise is officially coming to an end after nearly nine months at sea — and one of its famous passengers has mixed feelings about it.

Kruzer, who goes by the name drjennytravels, has built a loyal following by sharing content from his extraordinary (and long) journey. She went viral for sharing messages from a rocky journey through the stormy Drake Passage to Antarctica in January and when the ship encountered “terrifying” fog that led to a canceled port in May.

In a TikTok shared on August 10, Dr .Jenny began the countdown to the last month of the cruise ship Serenade of the sea and expressed her sadness over the months-long journey that was almost over.

“Today is a month until I leave for a nine-month world cruise and I feel mixed emotions about it,” she says in the video. “In the long run, I feel sad, anxious and in a way dreading the end of this adventure – but on the other hand, we still have a month of cruising.”

She adds that she is excited to have her friends join her on the Copenhagen to Amsterdam leg of the trip last month.

In February, the TikToker informed her followers when a cruise ship operated by Royal Caribbean was faced with a significant change to its itinerary due to unrest in the Middle East.

At the time, the cruise line confirmed to PEOPLE that it would cancel its original nine-month itinerary through the Red Sea and Suez Canal in May to ensure the safety of its passengers and crew members. Cruisers were then presented with two alternative itineraries that Dr. Jenny explained in another TikTok.

“We’re going to Dubai. We’re also going to Africa. We’re going to go around the top of South Africa,” she said. “The itinerary is not finalized; we actually have two options. The first is called the ‘Scenic Route’ — it’s more about Africa, and the second is what they call the ‘Highway’, which has a lot of days at sea and stops less in Africa. ”

She also shared a video of the cruisers’ town hall meeting and explained that cruisers have the option of voting on which route they want to take. In the end, the “scenic route” was chosen and the cruisers could visit more parts of Africa.

The Ultimate World Cruise departed Miami on December 10th and will return to the same port when it finishes on September 10th. It cruises for 274 nights and visits a total of 160 destinations, including eight wonders of the world, according to its official website.

Consisting of four segments — Ultimate Americas Cruise, Ultimate Asia Pacific Cruise, Ultimate Africa and Southern Europe Cruise and Ultimate Europe and Beyond Cruise — the voyage is currently on its final leg, passing through Norway.
