The 80th Venice Film Festival came to life on Monday when some A-listers finally showed up to promote the film, which is being screened despite ongoing strikes by writers and actors. Priscilla Presley, Jacob Elordi and Cailee Spaeny hit the red carpet in the Italian city to promote Sofia Coppola’s upcoming film, Priscilla. The film, produced by A24, was shot in Canada and thus has a temporary contract with the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists, allowing its stars to attend the festival despite the union’s strikes. Their appearance was a welcome change for the festival, which suffered from a lack of visitors last week. Priscilla is a biopic about the late wife of Elvis Presley, detailing how she met and eventually married the king of rock and roll.
