The actor is best known for his role as Sonny Corleone in Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Godfather” trilogy. The actor’s management announced his death on Twitter the day after his death. The cause of his death was not known at the time. Caan’s earlier health concerns, on the other hand, indicated that it could have been the main cause of his death. In 2015, the actor was hospitalized after suffering from chest disease. Caan’s heart problems were confirmed in the latest TMZ story. Caan died of a heart attack, among other things, according to his official death certificate.

James Caan’s Cause of Death (Details Under Investigation)
According to official death certificate documentation obtained by TMZ, James Caan had a chronic inflammatory lung disease known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This suggested that the actor had difficulty getting enough oxygen into his lungs and was likely experiencing breathing problems, increased mucus production and coughing.
Caan also suffered from congestive heart failure, meaning his heart was unable to pump enough blood through his body. WebMD claims that
“Severe COPD can lead to heart failure in the lower right ventricle or ventricle of your heart.” This is called right heart failure or cor pulmonale.”
However, it should be noted that the documents obtained by TMZ did not specify whether the actor had a heart problem on the right side of the heart. Breathing problems, such as are typical in people with COPD and heart disease, are sometimes difficult to pin down to a single cause. According to WebMD,
“If both COPD and heart failure are severe, doctors have to guess which disease is causing your symptoms.” To make matters worse, COPD and heart failure can manifest at the same time. James Caan has been suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) for several years, and the actor was most likely hospitalized in 2015 due to this disease. Caan was diagnosed with a chest ailment in Toronto at the time.
According to a TMZ story, James Caan passed away on July 6 at 9:02 p.m. He died at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, where he had been hospitalized when his condition worsened. No additional information about his death is publicly available. Caan was reportedly buried in Los Angeles and is currently buried at Eden Memorial Park Cemetery in Mission Hills.
It is not yet known whether the late actor’s family intends to organize a public memorial service for him. Caan’s funeral may have already been quiet, with family, friends and acquaintances. James Caan has built a career spanning six decades. The actor played a number of notable roles, including The Glory Guys, The Rain People and others. Caan is survived by his sons Scott, James, Jacob, Alexander and Tara, as well as his daughter Tara. Scott Caan is the only one of his children who tried acting like his father. Among other roles, Scott played Turk in the series Ocean.
