The Golden Bachelor’s Ellen Reveals Her ‘Old Boyfriends’ Reached Out After Seeing Her on the Show (Exclusive)

The Golden BachelorEllen’s Ellen Goltzer admits she’s heard from some former beaus after appearing on national television.

The 71-year-old retired teacher tells PEOPLE that “old guys from college and high school” have “reached out” after seeing her on the ABC dating series.

“It’s almost a surreal experience. People use that word a lot, but it’s true,” she says. “It’s almost like an out-of-body experience where you don’t think he’s watching me, but I don’t think it’s actually me.”

“And then when people come up to me and say something like, ‘Oh, I know you,’ or people reach out from elementary school. I went to Forestry School with her. It’s crazy,” she adds.

“I’m usually not that verbal when it comes to emotions. I think that’s why they persuaded me to apply because the people in my life who love me knew that I was missing something even though I had a full life,” he explains. “I didn’t expect to be like that. I didn’t expect to be so emotional. I didn’t expect to feel so comfortable on set.”

She says that at the end of the show, it took her out of her “comfort zone”, adding: “I could have just relaxed, but I relaxed a little too much. But I guess it was good for me to be able to do that because it showed me that I was capable of being emotional again and looking for love again. It really is. I was shocked.”
