Marvel Studios reveals some of the sillier moments from filming The Marvels.
On Thursday, Marvel Studios shared a gag reel from the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe exclusively with PEOPLE, before The Marvels‘ published on digital platforms on January 16. The video takes fans behind the scenes of the film’s production, including footage of the film’s star Brie Larson, 34, dancing and actress Iman Vellani giving Samuel L. Jackson a perhaps a little too hard in the ribs.
“Are we Avengers now?” Vellani, 21, asks during one shot as he fights back a laugh. “If you say it, it might come true,” Larson replies, amused by her costar’s interruption.

“When [Carol’s] duties send her into an abnormal wormhole, her powers intertwined with super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Mrs. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “Together, this unlikely trio must team up and work together to save the universe.”

The gay reel shows the connection between Larson and Vellani, whose Ms. Marvel character is shown to be a huge fan of Captain Marvel. Back in May 2023, Vellani told PEOPLE that she views Larson as an “older sister.”
“We’re close, and she’s honestly a big sister at this point,” she said of their friendship at the time. “But yeah, I think she really taught me a lot about how to take care of yourself and the importance of taking care of yourself, mentally and physically, and I really value our friendship.”
