The Masked Singer Delivers 1 of Jenny McCarthy’s ‘Favorite Smackdowns’ on Harry Potter Night

Masked singer cast his spell on Wednesday – but one member of Group B had a less than charmed evening.

Season 2’s Flamingo Adrienne Bailon-Houghton kicked off Wednesday’s Harry Potter night with a performance of Screamin’ Jay Hawkins’ “I Put a Spell on You.”

Judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke got into the spirit by dressing up as Severus Snape, Albus Dumbledore, Hermione Granger and Sirius Black.

Tiki kicked off Group B’s performances by saying in his cue pack that “they’ve really found the magic in my life these days.”

Tiki also said they reached a point in their careers where they asked themselves, “Are you letting it dilute you or are you changing with the times?”

Tiki chose the latter.

“I’ve decided to put my hard-partying lifestyle on the back burner and keep my family on tap,” continued the tropical drink in a package with a sign depicting a piano and vintage clock. “I used to be up every night partying until 6am – now that’s when my alarm goes off to take my kid to school.”

Tiki sang “Magic” from Pilot, prompting Thicke, 46, to tell Tiki, “Your voice is so iconic and so legendary.”

The Sorting Hat placed Tiki in Gryffindor, which Tiki thought made sense. “You have to be brave to be front and center on the stages I manage,” Tiki said.

The committee felt that Tiki could be Dave Grohl, Jon Bon Jovi, The Who’s Roger Daltrey or Robert Plant from Led Zeppelin.

Husky continued with an air of vulnerability.

“Growing up, I was also an underrated wizard,” Husky said in his hint packet about what his relationship with the boy wizard was like. “As a young puppy, I was often teased.”

Husky said his peers called him “skinny,” but he eventually “evolved from a skinny boy to a husky.”

The clue pack also included a rose, a globe and three King of Hearts playing cards.

“Despite all the love and inspiring lovemaking, to this day I still don’t feel like I’ve succeeded,” Husky admitted.

Snow Hound became freaked out on Rick James’ “Super Freak” and was eventually sorted into Hufflepuff.

“I actually had a feeling I was going to be a Hufflepuff because of my relationship with Mr. Puff himself: P. Diddy,” Husky said.

Ginuwine, Brian McKnight and Tank emerged as options for Husky.

Hawk flew onto the stage next.

“Not too long ago, someone close to me lost a battle with cancer,” Hawk admitted in his clue packet. “She was my support system and my best friend. And after she died, nothing seemed to matter.”

Hawk said he sought help and learned “that the pain is never going to go away, but it’s lessening.” A teen slasher, a book marked “do not open” and a note from Mama Hawk also popped up in the clue pack.

“Great performance all round,” Jeong, 54, told Hawk.

The Sorting Hat placed Hawk in Ravenclaw because of his connection to birds.

“It makes a lot of sense that I’m a Ravenclaw because I was a good student – ​​or at least you saw me on TV pretending to be,” Hawk said.

This made the committee think that Hawk could be Billie Joe Armstrong, Andrew Garfield or Ryan Phillippe.

With that, a surprising new contestant entered the competition: the Sea Queen.

“I’ve always been a bit of a joker in life,” said the Sea Queen in her cue pack, which included a black widow and a CD player.

The underwater king admitted that they were fired from their first job organizing museum tours and kicked out of boarding school. But that didn’t limit the Sea Queen’s success.

“Comedy, writing, singing, I’ve done it all and these days I’m preparing for a new tour,” said Sea Queen.

The Sea Queen threw herself into “Love Potion No. 9” by The Searchers before being sorted into Slytherin.

“Slytherin makes sense to me,” the Sea Witch agreed. “I’ve always been smart about my career: you never know what genre you’re going to catch me in next.”

The judges suspected that the Sea Queen could be Erykah Badu, Queen Latifah or Jenifer Lewis.

Host Nick Cannon informed the studio audience that it was time to vote for their favorite performance of the night. The lowest ranked competitors will face off on The Smackdown. Cannon, 43, revealed that Tiki and Hawk will fight this week.

Both were stunning on Lady Gaga’s “Monster,” making it difficult for the judges to decide who to eliminate.

“It was Smackdown,” Scherzinger, 45, said.

McCarthy, 50, called it “one of my all-time favorite Smackdowns.”
