The Masked Singer: Jenny McCarthy Calls 1 Contestant 'a Frontrunner' as the Competition Names Its Final 3

He won the final four Masked singer stage on Wednesday, May 8, as the battle for the Golden Mask trophy intensified.

Before Clock, Goldfish, Gumball and Poodle Moth returned to the quarter-finals, host Nick Cannon announced that judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Rita Ora and Robin Thicke could press the blue button on the table to get an extra clue for one contestant uu in the form of an Amazon Prime package for delivery.

From there, Clock took the stage first.

“Winning against all these young whippersnappers still shocks this Clock,” Clock said in her clue pack.

Clock said her loved ones always enjoyed hearing her sing until she expressed her desire to do it for a living. “I was a young mother and my biggest worry was my own mom,” Clock said. Now, “my son is actually working with me on tour,” Clock revealed.

Clock got the audience dancing to “Get on Your Feet” by Gloria Estefan.

After that, Clock got a call from someone special: her son. “You never cease to amaze me,” he said. “I’ve seen you perform thousands of times. I know you’re nervous tonight, but remember, you’re performing for the Pope.”

Clock broke down in tears hearing her son as the judges suggested she could be one of the Sisters Sledge members or Shirley Bassey.

Gumball jumped out next.

The vending machine said in its clue packet that “someone who was an athlete” on Smack Down during the May 1 episode felt “like I was back on that field.”

Gumball tackled “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz.

“I feel like this is a voice that should be in a famous boy band,” McCarthy, 51, said.

For Gumball’s additional clue, he received a call from his wife. “I’m so proud of you and seeing you on that stage reminds me of your time off Broadway,” she said. “You’re really back in your element.”

Gumball said of his wife that she is “the most amazing person I know”.

James Van Der Beek, Derek Hough and Taran Killam have emerged as options for Gumball, and Jeong, 54, doubled down on his guess on Killam, 42, after calling in the Amazon Prime clue and receiving a set for the children’s doctors.

McCarthy thought Jeong “might be right” in guessing first Saturday night live star.

Poodle Moth kept things going by thinking about how Ding Dong Keep It On’s bell saved him during the Group C final. “I was so grateful,” Poodle Moth said in her clue packet.

The dog-insect hybrid shared that a similar situation happened to her in her career.

“I was saved just when I needed it most,” said the poodle. “Before the big break I had no cash, my credit card was getting interest and I even had to borrow money for fuel. I was afraid to answer the phone in case it was the debt collectors again until one time I was close enough to ignore it, but for some reason something inside me rose. And thank God, because that call changed everything.”

That call resulted in Poodle Moth’s ‘big break’, she revealed.

Poodle Moth covered Jessie J’s “Price Tag” with BoB before receiving another important call – this time from his sister.

“Is there anything you can’t do?” – asked the poodle’s sister. “Seriously, from performing in that costume to being nominated for a Golden Globe, your talents are endless.”

The judges thought Poodle Moth could be Sheryl Crow, Chrissy Metz or Riley Keough.

The goldfish concluded by talking about the development of her career.

“I feel like I’ve been through a lot in my career,” Goldfish said in her clue packet. “When you’re young and you suddenly become a role model, there’s a lot of pressure to live up to expectations and grow up in front of the whole world. People wanted me to be one thing: perfect. But perfect is impossible, the only thing I am is resilient. In Hollywood, you have to keep reinventing yourself. We are not the same from our teenage years to our mature years.”

Goldfish covered Nat King Cole’s “Unforgettable”.

“You really are the starlet and frontrunner in this competition,” McCarthy said of the Goldfish.

The fish accepted the invitation of her husband, whom she described as “a real sexy man whom I love very much.”

“Hey honey, I’m so happy to see you progress in this competition, but honestly, I knew you would all along,” he said. “You never back down from a challenge and absolutely love performing live.”

Hilary Duff, Vanessa Hudgens and Nicole Scherzinger came as options for the Golden Fish.

Cannon, 43, announced that, after a vote by the studio audience and panel, the two contestants with the two lowest votes would compete on Smackdown. After the votes were tallied, the father of 12 announced that Gumball and Poodle Moth would face off on Smackdown, while Clock and Goldfish would advance to the semi-finals.

Poodle Moth and Gumball each put their own spin on Cher’s hit “If I Could Turn Back Time”.

Ultimately, the panel chose Gumball to move forward, while Poodle Moth was exposed. The moth turned out to be a poodle This is us star Chrissy Metz.

“You accessed your emotions in these clue packs,” Jeong said after the 43-year-old actress was exposed. “We felt it.”
