A PUB in a British seaside village has been named the best in England after impressing judges with its food, drink selection and picturesque setting.
Every year, Visit England selects and celebrates the best that England has to offer, and this year’s winners have finally been revealed.

Its categories include Pub of the Year, which celebrates the best drinks in England.
First place at this year’s awards is the Peterville Inn in St Agnes, Cornwall.
The Peterville describes itself as a “traditional” pub and is no stranger to winning awards.
Back in November, it was named Gold Pub of the Year at the Cornwall Tourism Awards, earning it local recognition.
However, this year it received national award status and was named the best pub in the country by Visit England.
Visit England says in its brochure: “Tom and Lara Trubshaw established The Peterville Inn in the village of St Agnes after spotting a gap in the market for a quality pub restaurant.
“The couple’s vision for the pub was to produce a high-quality menu that celebrates local produce and seasonality, alongside a strong bar offering.
“The pub now offers three areas – an outdoor patio area, a cozy indoor bar with an all-day menu, as well as an evening restaurant offering à la carte options, complemented by an extensive hand-picked wine list, local beers, ciders and house-crafted cocktails.”
Food and drink aside, the pub’s surroundings are just as impressive, with one of the area’s favorite beaches, Trevaunance Cove.
The beach is famous for its soft sand and clear blue sea and is only a few minutes’ walk from the pub, which means that a day at the sea can be rounded off with dinner and drinks.

The pub’s website promises “a modern pub dining experience, great drinks and a warm Cornish atmosphere”.
It continues: “We have a welcome bar, cozy restaurant as well as outdoor seating with pyramid heaters and blankets so why not plan a visit today?”
After receiving the award, the pub owners said they were “incredibly delighted” and that it would “definitely take some time to sink in” that they had picked up the title.
On their Facebook page, they wrote: “Last night something incredible and completely unexpected happened…

Their locals called, full of praise for the pub.

A third added: “We always visit when staying in St Agnes or nearby. The locals are so happy to have your establishment in their neighbourhood.”
Meanwhile, this pub has its own secret beach despite being in the center of town.
