Sofronio Vasquez deserved his flowers.
Vasquez was named the winner of the 26th season Vote on Tuesday, December 10, making Michael Bublé the winningest coach in his debut season.
Vasquez fell to his knees when he was announced the winner. Bublé also burst into tears.
“My brother Filipino, you are the hope of so many people… it’s been such an amazing journey to be here with you,” Bublé told Vasquez before being announced as the winner.

Vasquez grew up in the Philippines and credits his father with instilling in him a love of singing. He moved to the United States in 2022 to pursue music after the death of his father.
During the blind audition for “I’m Goin’ Down”, Rose Royce earned four chairs and chose Bublé as his coach.
During the Dec. 2 episode, the Canadian singer gave Vasquez some encouraging feedback after his moving rendition of Elvis Presley’s “If I Can Dream.”

“I think if people understood the strength that you have and the fact that through all this adversity, you come out here on a night like this, when it’s probably more important than anything in your entire career,” he said. “You come right out here and get the brass ring and I’m so happy for you.”
Speaking with PEOPLE on Dec. 9, Vasquez told PEOPLE he will celebrate his experience on the show after the finale, win or lose.
“We’re just going to celebrate that this was a very, very good race Vote and we really felt that the production loves us and that no one is superior… we are all loved. [It’s] in American hands for tomorrow,” he said.
