The Young and the Restless Star Courtney Hope Says Car Accident Had Her ‘Laughing at the Beauty of Life’

Young and restless star Courtney Hope shared an update on the Dec. 4 car crash in the Hollywood Hills, saying it was a “tough moment” but also “incredibly beautiful.”

The actress, who plays Sally Spectra on the long-running CBS daytime show, thanked everyone who reached out in a now-deleted Instagram story, saying, “I’m so thankful that everyone involved was okay.”

Hope, 34, who appeared to have collided with another family’s car right in front of famed magician Harry Houdini’s estate on Laurel Canyon Boulevard, said the accident ended up being accidental.

“I also have to say that the craziest experience was how positive and incredibly beautiful it ended up being with, you know, a guy [other driver] and his family, and my family, and the people who witnessed it stayed for hours, both workers and neighbors.”

They even bumped into another celebrity’s team after a bumper turn.

“Oprah [WInfrey]The team was at the Houdini’s house and they were coming down, and it was like, we ended up laughing and taking pictures. And I know that sounds completely crazy and ridiculous, but I was shocked that something beautiful could come out of it in such a very difficult moment. Honestly, as if all that mattered was that we were all okay.”

Captioning her stories “God’s grace shone through” and “God is good”, Hope posted photos of the crash – including smiling pictures with the other family involved.

“We just spent the next few hours obviously dealing with logistics and getting over the stress and the shock and you know, all of the above, but what was important is you know, we had that experience with a whole other family and other people,” she shared .

“Everyone just focused on the positive and that everyone was so grateful that everyone was okay. And so we just laughed at the beauty of life and the irony of being in front of Houdini’s house and the like. It was just crazy.”

By the end of the meeting, Hope says, “they exchanged numbers and took pictures and it was, like, I’m so grateful for that experience.”

She continued: “It was so exciting to see that there was light in the midst of darkness… it was life changing. And I don’t know. I feel something bigger is happening. I do not know what. And like, I didn’t even know we were in front of Houdini’s house until I talked to security and they said, ‘What’s your address?'”

While she wasn’t quite sure of the significance, admitting, “There’s a lot to unpack,” Hope concluded her reflection by saying, “I really appreciate everyone who reached out — and priorities are everything, man. You know what really matters is human beings . So, you know, kindness and love and gratitude go a long way.”

And while Hope added, “I don’t know if our cars are wrecked,” she ended up needing a rental, but she also found positivity in it, sharing a picture of a key ring hanging from her steering wheel that read: LUV is blown.
