What if the Pixar character Ratatouille decided to pursue a career as a cleaner instead of cooking? A man from the UK has a good idea of how that might turn out.
According to the BBC, late last year, Rodney Holbrook began noticing that he would leave his shed in Builth Wells, Wales, untidy and wake up to find the outbuilding magically tidied up.
Puzzled as to how the shed could clean itself, a wildlife photographer and retired postman set up a night vision camera to get to the bottom of the mystery.
After checking the footage, Holbrook discovered that the mouse was behind the late-night cleaning. A night vision camera captured the rodent neatly putting away loose materials around Holbrook’s shed.

Holbrook named his pet cleaner the “Welsh Tidy Mouse” and let the rodent continue to work for the past two months.
“Ninety-nine times out of 100, a mouse will clean up all night,” the 75-year-old told the BBC, adding: “It’s really amazing that they put them all back in the box; I think it’s possible they’re enjoying themselves.”
Holbrook enjoys decorating and sees no reason to prevent a mouse from cleaning up. One believes the rodent could also benefit from tidying up by potentially storing food for later among Holbrook’s belongings.

“Now I don’t bother tidying up; I leave things out of the box and they put them back in place by morning,” Holbrook said.

In Holbrook’s video of the mouse, the animal picks up objects – including some larger than the Welsh Tidy Mouse’s tiny frame – and carries them to a small box on a workbench, where the rodent neatly places the items inside.

Holbrook said Guard that he began testing the mouse’s lifting skills, but leaving increasingly large objects around the shed; so far Welsh Tidy Mouse has handled it all gracefully.
“I couldn’t believe it when I saw the mouse clean up,” Holbrook told the newspaper.
