Tiffany Haddish Enters Not Guilty Plea in Los Angeles DUI Case

Tiffany Haddish has pleaded not guilty to two misdemeanor charges following her arrest under duress over Thanksgiving weekend.

Her defense attorney pleaded not guilty Girls trip star, 44, during Wednesday’s arraignment, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office told PEOPLE. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 14, the office announced.

The comedian was arrested in the early morning hours of November 24 after allegedly falling asleep at the wheel of her Tesla. She was charged with one misdemeanor charge for driving under the influence of alcohol and one misdemeanor charge for driving with 0.08 percent alcohol in the blood.

Tiffany Haddish vows to ‘seek help’ after second arrest on condition she undergoes hardship to ‘learn balance and boundaries’

After she was released the same day, she performed at the Laugh Factory in Long Beach, California, and poked fun at the situation, stating, “I prayed to God to send me a man with a job, a career, preferably in uniform, and I heard my prayers,” it said. in a video obtained by TMZ.

While talking about the arrest in an interview with Party tonight published on Nov. 27, Haddish said the situation would “never happen again.” She explained that her Tesla parked itself after falling asleep, but blocked part of the street after the Beverly Hills Police Department arrived.

Although she said she was in “good spirits” after the incident, she told the newspaper: “I’m going to get help to learn to maintain balance and boundaries.”

She expressed the same sentiments in a birthday tribute to herself, shared on Instagram on Dec. 3, writing in part, “Happy birthday🎼🎶🎵🎶!!!!!. I’m ready for the next chapter in my life. I have more music and another book and I can’t wait to share all the work I do for my family and all my real unicorns with the world.”
