A TikToker who joined a nine-month world cruise is going viral with a dramatic update on how the trip is going.
On December 27, a social media user named Marc Sebastian told his TikTok followers that he would be embarking on the “ultimate world cruise.” In the video, he explained that he was approached by the brand asking if he wanted to take part in the run after talking about it on a social media platform. He stayed on the trip for 18 nights.
Sebastian did not initially identify the sponsor, but described it as an “unexpected and big” brand. In a later video, he revealed that the sponsor is Atria Books.
His videos have garnered an impressive amount of views, and his experience of the Drake Passage — the body of water between South America and Antarctica — has been viewed more than 9 million times.

“For 18 nights? fine. But in 9 months? I can’t baby,” Sebastian captioned a TikTok of himself going around the room last week.
“The room was $8,500 for 18 nights on the South America/Antarctica leg,” he said, pointing to his third-floor cabin overlooking the ocean. As the footage continued, he filmed his closet, saying he didn’t understand how anyone could fit “nine months’ worth of clothes in here.”
When he got to the bathroom, he noted that the shower was “super small” but appreciated the efficiency “because the water only comes in three temperatures – which is freezing, hot or third degree burns, and I actually like a shower that takes the decision-making out of my morning.”
Sebastian recently expressed his frustrations with the cancellation of some winter trips due to weather conditions and gusts of wind.
“I have to go see the penguins. There were a bunch of schedule mishaps. Excursions have been cancelled. I have to see the king penguins!” he said in a video released Monday.

“This is the best anti-cruise ad I’ve ever seen. Talk about the opposite of relaxing,” one TikTok user commented.
After getting out of bed and meeting other passengers on the excursion, Sebastian recorded himself saying how he and two others came together to form an alliance on the ship.

He also complained about other guests having trouble queuing up before scheduled activities. “I don’t know why this is so difficult. Did you ever go to school?” he asked.
It looks like Sebastian has plenty of time to get to know his fellow passengers as the #RoyalCaribbeanUltimateWorldCruise sails until September 10, 2024.
However, others on board seem to be enjoying their home away from home – and some are making fake things MTV Cribs content and other connections with the ship’s personnel.
The trip will cover America, Asia and the Pacific, the Middle East and the Mediterranean, and Europe and beyond.
Ticket prices are based on an array of 1,073 staterooms, and the entire 274-night voyage ranges from $53,999 per person to $117,599 per person. Tickets for the various legs of the journey are still available for booking.
