Tim Burton’s Beetlejuice Sequel Unveils Official Title and New Poster: ‘The Wait Is Almost Over’

One of the most anticipated movie sequels this year finally has a title.

Warner Bros. Pictures on Thursday shared a new poster for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice to x, revealing the sequel to Tim Burton’s 1988 classic will simply double down on its original title. The poster itself shows a pair of hands holding a roll of white ribbon with numbers on it. In the center of the poster is the green text “09,06,24”, indicating the film’s release date of September 6.

“Dare to say it again,” the company wrote alongside the poster.

New movie title, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, is a reference to its title character. Michael Keaton portrayed Beetlejuice in the original 1988 film as a green-haired, boisterous ghost from the underworld who appears if someone says his name three times in a row. Keaton (72) is again involved in the sequel, as well as Winona Ryder, who will reprise her role as Lydia Deetz, and Catherine O’Hara, who played Delia Deetz.

“Just finished shooting Beetlejuice,” Burton wrote on Instagram on Nov. 30, alongside a photo of him sitting on a couch on the movie set. “Thanks to everyone who participated.”

“It was like going back to why I loved making movies,” he told the news outlet.
