Tim David

Tim David is a Singaporean-Australian cricketer. He plays primarily as a middle-order batsman in the Australian national cricket team. Previously, David played for the Singapore national cricket team for about a year.

Tim David, also known as Timothy Hays David, was born on Saturday, March 16, 1996 in Singapore (27 years old; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Pisces. His family origins are from Australia, and his father moved to Singapore in the 1990s to work as an engineer. His parents moved back to Australia during the 1997 Asian financial crisis when Tim was two years old. Tim grew up in Perth, Australia. He attended Scotch College in Melbourne. Tim’s passion for cricket was sparked by watching his father play for the Singapore national cricket team. At the age of three, he accompanied his father at Cresswell Park and Bellevista Oval, where he later played senior cricket for Claremont Netherland Cricket Club (CNCC). In addition, his father leads the local MILO Have-A-Go youth cricket program. Tim said of this in an interview,

These are my earliest memories: from the age of three, at Cresswell Park and Bellevista Oval, our second pitch. “

At the age of eight, David began playing for the Claremont-Nedlands Cricket Club (CNCC) under-10s team. He joins the likes of Joel Paris, Matt Kelly, Will Bossisto and Durham opener Cameron Steele in progressing through the age-group system. While many of his peers started playing first-level cricket at a young age, David has been playing second-level cricket at CNCC for many years.

In the 2018-19 season, he was awarded a state contract in Western Australia. However, he never progressed to senior level. Tim took it all in stride and devoted himself to white-ball cricket, playing for Singapore. He also played for the Western Australia Under-23s and Western Australia XI.

T20

Tim was included in the training squad of the Singapore Cricket Team in July 2019. A few days later, he was included in the Singapore Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for the regional finals of the 2018-19 ICC T20 World Cup Asia Qualifiers. On July 22, 2019, he represented Singapore for the first time in a T20 international match against Qatar. Thiem scored 38 runs off 29 balls in his debut match, hitting 1 six and 3 fours; Singapore defeated Qatar by 33 runs in this match. Thiem was selected for the Singapore team for the 2019 ICC T20 World Cup qualifiers in October 2019. The event is held in the United Arab Emirates. He was named a player to watch in the Singapore team by the International Cricket Council (ICC) before the match. He represented Singapore 14 times at the T20 level.

After playing for the Singapore national cricket team for about a year, Tim David has become a member of the Australian national cricket team for the 2022 World Cup. In the same year, he was also selected for the Australian team for the series against India. Tim made his T20 international debut for Australia on 20 September 2022 against India at Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Punjab (Mohari). In the third match of the series in Hyderabad, Telangana, Thiem scored 54 runs off 27 balls.

Tim was selected for the Singapore National Cricket Team in September 2019 to participate in the 2019 Malaysia Cricket World Cup Challenge League A Championship. He made his debut for Singapore against Qatar in the Cricket World Cup Challenge League A tournament on 17 September, his first Group A match. He scored 369 runs in five games and became the leading run-scorer of the tournament.

On April 30, 2023, in the 42nd IPL match of the 2023 season, Thiem scored an unbeaten 45 runs off 14 balls and hit 3 consecutive sixes in the final over of the run-chase. Mumbai earned a six-wicket win over Indians against Rajasthan Royals.

Talking about his performance at the post-match press conference, Tim said:

I’m really eager to finish a game like this. It feels great. The boys were excited. The other boys were all putting on great performances, so I was waiting for my turn. So, really happy. “

In his short 17-match IPL career, David amassed over 300 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 189.56.
