Timothée Chalamet doesn’t need a golden ticket to promote his latest movie — he just needs a plane ticket to Japan!
It’s on Saturday Wonka star, 27, hit the streets of Tokyo and enjoyed exploring the city while promoting his upcoming film. He treated his fans to some behind-the-scenes pictures and clips of his adventures on his Instagram Story.
Chalamet included photos of digital billboards, ramen noodle machines and selfies with friends – while the Oscar nominee sported a maroon and black leather jacket, black boots, a few obvious leather belts and his signature wavy hair.

Chalamet’s first post featured a couple Wonka-inspired nails, followed by an image of the star pointing her finger at a surveillance camera shot. He also uploaded a clip of a giant billboard with scenes from the movie, as well as a short video of rotating cups of ramen noodles (and a few drooling emojis).
And while Chalamet’s cool poses in Japan might seem like the highlight of his trip to some fans, the actor also visited legendary video game creator Hideo Kojima while in town.
Kojima, which is perhaps best known for Metal gear game series, shared a handful of pictures with Chalamet on Sunday, showing Wonka star making his way through studio Kojima Productions. Chalamet can be seen posing with props and even signing autographs on the wall.
“With Timothée,” Kojima captioned one image on X (formerly Twitter), before adding another title: “Timothée signed our record. Thank you!”
“Thanks for having me, Hideo,” Chalamet wrote on the wall.

Timeline of Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet’s relationship
Chalamet’s trip to Japan comes just a week after the actor hosted Saturday night live in New York, where he hosted the fourth episode of the cult series in the 49th season. And he wasn’t alone after leaving NBC Studios, as Kylie Jenner joined him at the after party to celebrate his guest appearance.
During their outing, Jenner wore an all-black off-the-shoulder look, while Chalamet arrived separately in a blue and red hoodie with a purple jacket.

The two, who have yet to speak publicly about their romance, have also made several appearances together at New York Fashion Week and the 2023 US Open. A source previously confirmed to PEOPLE in April that Jenner and Chalamet were “hanging out and getting to know each other.”
