Jermaine Dupri found R&B quintet Xscape and quickly added the next group to his then-new label, So So Def Recordings. She won two Soul Train Music Awards as part of the ensemble, including the A-Town Music Award for Best Duo/Ensemble, Best New R&B Artist, and Best R&B Album. After the release of Xscape’s third album, Traces of My Lipstick, in 1998, the band disbanded.
She shared a Grammy Award with Kandi Burruss, another former Xscape member, for TLC’s hit song “No Scrubs.” Her other honors include an ASCAP Rap Award and an American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Award. She reunited with her sisters, Tamika Scott and LaToch, as well as new member, Kiesha Miles, and released the Xscape record, Unchained, as well as the song, ‘What’s Up,’ in 2005. Cottle made her reality television debut on BET’s Tiny and Toya in June 2009.
