TISSNET 2024 Cancelled
TISSNET Cancelled: Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has decided to cancel the TISS National Entrance Test (NET). Now, admission to all postgraduate degrees, except for two, will be done through the Common University Entrance Examination for Postgraduate Studies (CUET PG) for the academic year 2024-25.
Admission to the other two programs: the master’s degree in human resource management and labor relations and the master’s degree in organizational development, change and leadership will be based on the results of the Common Admission Test (CAT). The institution also stated that further information, updates and notices will be posted soon on the admissions website: admissions.tiss.edu.
Decision on the termination of TISSNET
In accordance with the mandate of the Ministry of Education and the Commission for University Scholarships, the Institute decided to conduct CUET for admission to postgraduate programs at central, state and other participating universities. The institute mentioned that the CUET PG exam provides a one-stop shop opportunity for all postgraduate candidates.
An official notification states, “CUET (PG) provides a one-stop shop facility for all postgraduate students seeking admission in any of the Central Universities (CUs) or other participating organizations including State Deemed Universities and Private Universities across the country.”

Earlier, Tata Institute of Social Sciences conducted TISS NET national exam to select candidates for 57 Masters programs at Mumbai, Hyderabad, Tuljapur and Guwahati campuses (Master of Arts, Master of Science and BEd-MEd integrated). Opposition to the abolition of TISSNET in 2024
Many candidates have opposed the Tata Institute of Social Sciences’ decision to scrap the TISSNET 2-24 exam and conduct admissions to the two postgraduate courses through the Common Entrance Test (CAT). The candidates reasoned that the CAT 2023 registration is over and they did not appear for the exam. They urged the institute to consider holding the preliminary examination for the academic year 2024 saying they should have been informed earlier about the admission through CAT.
