Tom Hardy Says Production on Venom 3 Has Resumed Following Actors’ Strike: ‘We Are Back’

Tom Hardy is back in action on the set poison 3.

The actor (46) announced on Instagram on Friday that the production of the third part of the popular Sony Pictures film series had begun and that the cast and crew had returned to filming.

Hardy posted a black and white photo of himself with director and screenwriter Kelly Marcel and actor and stunt double Jacob Tomuri. In the picture, the three of them appeared in a good mood as they all had wide smiles.

“V3N0M 3🔥🔥🔥❤️♠️ The last dance — luckily we’re back to filming,” he wrote alongside the photo. “And I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams so far for the drive from V1 to here. All of our fantastic cast and crew — good friends and family — we’ve come a long way.”

“It has been and continues to be a lot of fun this trip,” he continued. “There are always difficulties when we work, but it is not so difficult when you love what you do and when you know that you have great material and support from all sides, a great team. Surrounded by talented and passionate departments and surrounded by people you love and care about, it doesn’t get any better.”

He then went on to talk about how “proud” he is of Marcel, noting what an “honor” it is to watch her take the “helm” of this film.

“Your instincts are always spot on,” he said to Marcel. “First class — I support you. 100%. As always. And I absolutely love working with you and watching you take on bigger challenges each time.”

He concluded the post by saying, “Have a great ride!!! #Venom3 #team.”

Sony Pictures made the announcement during CinemaCon in April poison 3 and continuation on Ghostbusters: Afterlife would publish in the future. However, the SAG-AFTRA strike, which lasted from July 14 to November 9, delayed the shooting of both films.

With the end of the strike, several films have already resumed production, including Deadpool 3per Diversityand Beetle juice 2according to NBC Boston.

Sony’s announcement of poison 3 comes after the predecessor Poison and Venom: Let There Be Carnage experienced success at the box office. The second installment followed investigative reporter Eddie Brock (Hardy) as he battled his inner alter ego, Venom, and visited serial killer Cletus Kasady (Woody Harrelson) in prison.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage grossed more than $502 million at the worldwide box office.
