All About Jason Momoa’s Parents, Joseph and Coni Momoa

When Jason was still a child, the two divorced and Coni moved to Iowa with Jason. She raised him there for the next 12 years before Jason began spending summers in Hawaii with his father, Joseph.

Since their son’s rise to fame, Coni has attended premieres with Jason and supported him through the ups and downs of stardom, with Joseph saying how proud he is of his son.

In the 2018 interview Honolulu Star-Advertiser, Josip spoke about sharing his son’s ambitions. “It’s like my dreams and my prayers for every night I didn’t share with my son when he was young,” he said of Jason’s success in Hollywood. “Now he has made it a reality. Every night I always call out to him and pray, blow a conch shell and just love the ocean because I know he will come back one day. And lo and behold, he’s in a movie about the ocean.”
