Tori Spelling Pays Tribute to Mom Candy on Her Birthday: ‘Grateful to Be Your Daughter’

Tori Spelling is proud to call Candy Spelling her mother.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum, 50, paid tribute to the Spelling family’s 78th birthday in a heartfelt Instagram post on Wednesday.

“Happy birthday mom aka @candyspelling. I love you. I’m grateful to be your daughter,” the actress wrote alongside some sweet photos of the couple over the years.

Tori Spelling says her relationship with mom Candy is ‘really good’ after years of estrangement

“Some of my happiest memories include laughing so much with you that we were happy and crying uncontrollably and you were doing your LOL wheezing… 😂. @randyspelling you know the one!” she recalled calling out her brother Randy Spelling.

Tori continued, “I never take for granted the wonderful life you raised Rand and me with Dad. And I am such a resilient and strong man and I owe a lot to you. Strong 💪 women are part of our family. I’m passing it on.”

She concluded her message with a nod to their favorite pastime together. “I loved and still love watching horror movies in bed with you. Constantly. Xo,” she wrote.

Although the mother-daughter duo was previously estranged, a source recently told PEOPLE in July that their “relationship is the best it’s ever been.”

“Tori’s only regret is that she held onto her grudge for so long and they lost a lot of time, but she hopes to make up for it now,” the insider added.

The source also shared that Tori has grown closer to her mother, as she was instrumental in helping her get through her divorce from husband Dean McDermott.

“She gave assurances to Tori that she and her children would be taken care of and that there should be no financial insecurity going forward,” the source said.

The insider added that Candy has also stepped in as a source of comfort for her daughter’s five children. “Children love their grandmother because she pampers them and gives them the best! Children are the whole world to Candy and she likes to spend as much time as possible with them – said the source.
