Claire was last seen on June 24 between 2.30pm and 3pm at the junction of Silkstone Lane and Bull Haw Lane in Silkstone.

She was caught on CCTV and seen in Barnsley and Stainborough days before she disappeared.

Claire was also seen the day before in High Street, Silkstone, near the back of The Bells Steakhouse and on the road near The Pot House Hamlet.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said in July that officers were becoming “increasingly concerned” for Claire’s welfare.

They appealed to citizens who have any information to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Rebecca Robinson said at the time: “We know that Claire likes to spend time outside, particularly visiting churches and historic monuments.

“She has many close friends who are increasingly worried about her.”

On Sunday, police confirmed that a body had been found in the search for Claire.

X, formerly Twitter, said: “A body was found this morning (September 15) in the Silkstone area of Barnsley.

“While formal identification has yet to be completed, we believe this is the missing woman Claire Driver. Her family has been notified.
