Passengers and tourists were in their seats when the incident happened while first aid was rendered in vain.

The doors were locked on flight BA 32 and the pilot requested a push-off to head for the runway when a crew member suddenly collapsed in the rear galley.

The captain immediately called for medical help, and a passenger trained in first aid ran to help.

But despite the arrival of police and emergency teams, unfortunately, the flight attendant could not be resuscitated, and devastated passengers were told that the New Year’s Eve flight had been canceled due to a “medical emergency”.

The passengers were rebooked the next day on another flight – BA31.

British Airways told The Sun: “Our thoughts are with the families and friends of our colleagues at this difficult time.”

Another flight attendant, also 52, died in the US on 23 December.

Following his sudden death, a flight from Newark to London Heathrow was canceled and passengers were rebooked on later flights.

Heartbroken colleagues raised the alarm when he did not report for duty. All were driven home as passengers – too upset to work.

A cabin crew worker was found dead in his hotel room, having died during a layover between flights.

A source said: “The team are distraught. These were two healthy people who died suddenly. There were no underlying health issues reported.

“The crew were family people and they leave devastated families in shock and disbelief.

“It has been a traumatic holiday period for BA’s flight team. Everyone is deeply disturbed.”
